A timing belt, timing chain, or cambelt is a part of an internal combustion engine that synchronizes the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft(s) so that the engine’s valves open and closes at the proper times during each cylinder’s intake and exhaust strokes.

Your tires should be rotated every other oil change, or every 6000 miles. Neglecting to rotate tires is a major cause of premature tire wear.

This is a very serious problem – if your car overheats for too long, you can damage your engine. As soon as possible, find a safe place to pull off the road and shut the engine off! Do not attempt to check the fluid level in the radiator; the hot fluid can cause severe burns. The best thing to do is have your car towed to GP Tires & Auto Care.

Synthetic motor oils can be a good choice for high output, turbocharged or supercharged engines. Or for vehicles that are used for towing (especially during hot weather), and vehicles that operate in extremely cold or hot climates. Although more expensive than mineral-based oils, synthetic motor oils can improve fuel economy and provide longer intervals between changes.

There are several reasons an A/C system can lose its cool. Bring your ride to us as soon as you start noticing this symptom, it could mean the difference between needing a small repair, or worse, a large one.

No, almost every vehicle model has a different shape of brake pad. The friction materials that are on the pad are different because almost every vehicle has different requirements and performance capabilities.

Just like every other component in your vehicle, timing belts wear out. When they do, they can slip or break causing serious damage to your car’s engine. For this reason, it’s important to replace the timing belt before it fails. The recommended schedule for timing belt replacement varies and depends upon your vehicle’s make. Replacement intervals range from 60,000 to 100,000 miles.

A timing belt isn’t easy to access which makes it a labor-intensive job. When it’s time to replace the timing belt, you may also want to consider replacing additional parts, like the tensioner, idler arm, and water pump. That’s because, like the timing belt, these parts are difficult to access. Either way, it’s important to remember that the cost to replace a timing belt is a lot less expensive than replacing an engine that is damaged because the timing belt broke.

Premature tire wear may be caused by many factors other than tire rotation. Some examples are as follows: improper inflation, driving conditions, misaligned vehicles, worn vehicle parts and a variety of other reasons.
Without physically inspecting the tires, it is difficult to decide as to why your tires wore prematurely. Please visit GP Tires& Auto Care and have one of our trained professionals inspect your tires free of charge.
